In the time since the Seattle Metro Chamber and Women’s Funding Alliance launched 100% Talent to address our region’s significant gender wage gap, we have made great strides: we’ve grown our numbers to more than 60 employers representing nearly 150,000 local employees; launched our quarterly best practice roundtables; hosted the inaugural Wage Gap Summit in 2017; and built an employer community dedicated to upholding gender equity in the workplace. Together, we have narrowed our county’s pay gap by nearly 3 cents on the dollar.
This growth has been exciting, and we’re pleased at the prospect of taking the 100% Talent regional progress model statewide. As we look to scale our local signatory engagement and programming, and expand geographically, we will be shifting 100% Talent to Women’s Funding Alliance, where it can be centrally managed, staffed, and scaled.
We believe this will enable efficient growth for the initiative, with more resources for signatories and employer learning across the state. The Chamber will remain involved in the initiative as a Founding Signatory and member of 100% Talent’s advisory board but will no longer have a day-to-day role in the initiative’s operations.
